Covid has also had some positive outcomes.
As part of our strategic I.T. upgrade we introduced Microsoft 365 and with this came TEAMs, which was very timely with lockdown and remote working.
This platform was used to good effect with 4 apprentices, Will King, Dominic Lyons, Joe Cheeseman and Reece Knappett who were furloughed. They were enrolled on the LEIA distance learning course GT1F3 but with the benefit of TEAMS weekly tutorials were supported by our Technical Director Andrew Harrison and C.E.O Keith Snow.
The tutorials were a huge success allowing Andrew and Keith to add value to the process by introducing the benefit of their practical experience.
The commitment from all four was commendable and this continued after furlough when they rushed home after work and college to attend tutorials in their own time. Needless to say all four passed with excellent results.
Keith has continued the tutorial principle with 5 more colleagues with transferable skills and Ben Wright has also rolled it out in our London office.
