Classic Lifts End of year Message

Adrian Crane, our Managing Director has communicated his annual message which highlights growth in the number of staff, sites, projects, service units, and company turnover.

Before we look to the future, I’d like to personally thank the whole of the Classic Lifts team for their contribution in 2022.

Working with a great team of people who all want to provide excellent customer service and take pride in providing quality products means we are all pulling in the same direction.

Organic growth within our branches in 2022 has been complemented with the opening of our Bristol Office where Dean Taylor is leading the Southwest region, and the acquisition of Stour Lifts where Mark Buontempo has exchanged his co-ownership of Stour to be our Regional Director for the South Coast region. These new regions mean we now have seven local branches providing national coverage.

A company’s strength is its people, and our investment in people expanded in 2022 with the engagement of a well-respected and national training organisation Train’d Up. This has helped us apply national consistency to our apprenticeship training program and we welcomed the first intake of 6 new apprentices into the company this autumn and we wish them every success on their own journey with Classic Lifts.

The table below provides a summary of some key measures and our overall company performance in 2022 – our 32nd year in business. Please note the figures include the results from Stour Lifts and Classic Lifts combined.

Measure2022 vs 2021 (Year over year improvement)
Number of employees+20%
Number of service units+20%
Service dept turnover+17%
New Lifts/Mods installed+10%
New Lift/Mod turnover+30%
Company turnover+35%

As you can see from the figures above, company performance was strong in 2022 and I re-iterate my thanks to the whole team for their continued support and good work.

Business is a team “game” of course and each member of Classic Lifts plays an important part in making the business successful.

Our Installations and Service contracts represent the lifeblood of the company. We take great pride in how we carry out our core on-site work of servicing, repairing, installing, and testing lifts. We always:

In 2023, we will continually improve our employee skill and knowledge levels, and develop our customer relationships to allow the workflow to continue and of course to work safely. Our Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are continually reviewed but they are only as good as the people who do the work and so I continue to encourage and ensure our staff is up to date in this area.

I am pleased to confirm that The Company remains in a strong position to move forward structurally, strategically, and financially.

Thank you to all of our staff, customers and suppliers for their contributions in 2022, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your families.
