When Nikki Davidson joined Classic Lifts back in 2008, she knew she had found not just an employer, but a company that valued its people. Over the years, she has grown into her role with confidence and now steps into a new challenge as Regional Sales Manager for the North West. Having previously covered Manchester, she is now responsible for securing new orders across the wider region – a responsibility she embraces with energy and enthusiasm.
“I’ve always found Classic Lifts to be a good company to work for,” she explains. “They’ve been incredibly supportive, particularly around childcare, which has made a huge difference. It’s a relaxed atmosphere and I get on really well with my colleagues. We enjoy what we do, and that makes the job enjoyable too.”
Her day-to-day is as varied as it is demanding. From working on tenders and pricing up projects to meeting consultants and carrying out site surveys, Nikki’s schedule keeps her firmly on the move. Yet it is the freedom that comes with her role that she appreciates most. “I’m not micro-managed, which I like, but I know if I’m struggling with anything, there’s always someone I can call. That support makes all the difference.”
For Nikki, Classic Lifts stands out in an industry often dominated by large, impersonal operators. “Classic Lifts is one big family,” she says simply. “That’s what makes us different.” It’s an approach that resonates strongly with her own work ethic. Customer service, she believes, is the cornerstone of success. “Customers are the priority. I’ll drop everything if needed, because response time matters. People shouldn’t have to chase. I want them to feel like they’re wanted.”
It’s that dedication which has seen her build strong, lasting relationships with clients over the years. Her advice for anyone starting out in the field is equally straightforward: “Work hard. Show willing, be proactive and use your initiative. Be patient, keep learning, and just get on with it.”
Away from work, Nikki’s world revolves around family life. A proud mum, she sees her children as her greatest achievement. “Watching them grow and turn into their own people, and supporting them to be the best they can be – that’s what I’m most proud of,” she says with a smile.
But there’s more to Nikki than her professional role and family commitments. A self-confessed enthusiast for criminal law and forensic psychology, she still finds time to indulge a fascination carried over from her “previous life”. She’s also deeply interested in crystals, Reiki, and spirituality – an outlook that keeps her balanced. And, in a detail that might surprise colleagues, she once dreamed of becoming an FBI agent at the age of four.
If given the chance to step into a lift to anywhere in the world, Nikki knows exactly where she’d go: “The Serengeti – somewhere with lots of animals, particularly lions. I love them.”
Driven, personable, and utterly committed to her customers, Nikki embodies the Classic Lifts spirit – professional yet personal, ambitious yet grounded. And as she takes on her new region, her passion for the job and her natural ability to connect with people will no doubt continue to set her apart.
