Sally Merrigan, our Service Administrator based in our East Midlands Office, takes to the spotlight for May.
I joined Classic Lifts in August this year, so I’m relatively new to the business! I live in Leicestershire with my two children, Madeline who’s just turned four and Joseph, who’s two.
1. What does your typical day at Classic Lifts involve?
As Service Administrator, my day can be very varied but my role involves invoicing, handling enquiries, organising engineers to perform repairs.
2. What’s your favourite way to spend time out of work?
With two young children, most of my time is spent with them and with our family. But when I do get some time to myself, I like to go out for some lovely food at nice restaurants with friends.
3. Where’s your favourite lift in the world?
The Bailong Lift (Hundred Dragons Lift) is one that I haven’t been in, but would really like to. It’s a glass elevator built onto the side of a huge cliff in Wulingyuan, China. It’s 330m high, and is said to be the highest and heaviest outdoor lift in the world.
4. Tell us something we didn’t know about lifts….
There were 24 lifts at the ancient Roman Colosseum, manually operated by the force of 200 slaves.
